Mickey's Halloween Party

Here comes the rain again

Last Friday, Mark and I added another Mickey’s Halloween Party to the books. This one was extra special, cause WE HAD RAIN! And a whole lot of it. I can’t remember the last time we had an honest-to-goodness thunderstorm, complete with the big booms and lightning — especially in mid October.

There was a lot of grumbling amongst the party guests once the rain set in, since it meant that the special Halloween parades and fireworks were cancelled, but I was loving it. I’m a huge fan of Disneyland in the rain, and this was no exception. Nothing like a freak Southern California thunderstorm to liven up an already lively Mickey’s Halloween Party.

The storm didn’t roll in till about 7pm, so we got to enjoy a nice, dry Main Street before the rain clouds took over.

We didn’t do any trick-or-treating this year, but we got to ride all the best Halloween-themed attractions (Haunted Mansion Holiday, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy) with pretty minimal lines. And, best of all, I got to snap so many twinkly light photos with nary a person in sight. My favorite part of Disneyland rainy days!

By the time we’d walked through the rain back to our room at the Disneyland Hotel, our shoes were all kinds of soggy. I was a little bummed to have missed the Halloween parade and fireworks, but the pitter patter of rain as we fell asleep made up for it.

xx,

K
