A quick stroll through Magic Kingdom
Our trip to WDW back in October was a major quickie: we landed in Orlando on Friday night, and flew back out to LAX on Monday morning. The main purpose of the visit was Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, but we knew we also wanted to see the newly opened Pandora in Animal Kingdom.
That didn’t leave much time for anything else, so the only other thing we definitively planned was lunch on Saturday at Be Our Guest (full review coming up next).
Ahead of our lunch reservations, we made the short trip from our room at the Polynesian to the Magic Kingdom gates.

I didn’t take nearly as many photos this trip as I usually do. I love capturing snapshots and documenting memories — this is essentially a visual diary, after all — but it was refreshing to focus more on the good times and less on the obsessive picture taking.

Of course, I’m incapable of truly leaving the camera behind, so I did snap some photos of the Magic Kingdom all dressed up for Halloween…

I also took my very first Purple Wall photos! Am I a legit WDW-er yet?

(Wedding update: Mark and I set a date and snagged the venue! I’ll share more on the planning process once we’ve gotten underway.)

We only hopped on one ride during our morning in Magic Kingdom: the Haunted Mansion. It felt seasonally appropriate, and was only a 5 minute wait — though we were definitely missing the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay (DL > WDW).

Can I also just say — HOLYCRAP, the weather was perfect. Honestly, I didn’t even know it was possible for the weather to not royally suck in Florida. All the other times we’ve visited it’s been blazingly hot and humid. But this trip it was mid-60s and absolutely glorious; a Halloween miracle!

Anyway. That’s all I got from our Saturday morning in Magic Kingdom (majorly short ‘n sweet by my standards). But don’t worry, I took lots of pictures during our lunch experience at Be Our Guest. I’ll be sharing my review of that much-hyped restaurant soon!
