Abbot Kinney

Just wanted to share a few snippets from an afternoon along Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, the self-proclaimed “coolest block in America.”I’d say more “quirky” than “cool,” but tomato-tomahto. In any case, it’s a a fabulous place to people watch (duuuude) and waste money on the very greatest of non-essential essentials (like avocado ice cream).

It’s home to one of my favorite stationary shops, Urbanic Paper Boutique.

Filled with all the ridiculous things you never knew you needed.

They recently opened a Salt & Straw too, which is an artisanal ice cream shop out of Portland. I wasn’t in the mood for frosty treats this time around (who am I?) but I know I’ll be back soon to give a scoop of the honey lavender a try.
