Mickey’s Halloween Party, again
A week ago, I put on the princess garb and attended Mickey’s Halloween Party. This was our 7th (or 8th?) year doing it, so it’s become an October tradition. We’ve rocked a ton of Disney themes — Lilo and Stitch, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., Pocahontas, and Peter Pan. This year, we took it back to basics. Snow White and the Seven (well, six) Dwarfs.

We started the evening in California Adventure, sipping Poison Appletinis at Carthay Circle Restaurant.

The millennial Snow White’s poison of choice.

After sunset, we made our way over to the real shindig inside Disneyland. Mickey’s Halloween Party is a special ticketed event, where you can dress up, trick-or-treat for candy, and watch a seasonal Halloween parade and fireworks show. My favorite part, per usual, is the people-watching. So many creative costumes! Lots of princesses, Mary Poppins, Marvel characters, and even one Backside of Water from the Jungle Cruise.

We left with bags full of fun size Snickers, Starburst, and Milk Duds — aka, a night well spent.

When is the least busy time to go to this event? It it better to go in September or October and is it super crazy busy near halloween? What do you recommend?

We’ve only ever gone in October near Halloween and it’s been totally fine. They cap attendance, so crowds are never too crazy.
