A Disneyland Staycation with OtterBox

First off – Merry Christmas Eve, loves! I just put a batch of homemade creme brûlée in the oven, Mark’s toiling away on the Millennium Falcon Lego set we snagged on Friday, and we’ve got Grey’s Anatomy reruns on in the background. Aka, my kind of holiday evening.

We’re at the height of holly jolly, so I wanted to share some snapshots from our short-but-sweet Disneyland staycation a couple days ago.

We checked into Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel on Thursday morning, with rose gold ears and matching Chip & Dale scarves in tow. I also had a few brand new Disney iPhone cases to try out, courtesy of the fabulous folks at OtterBox.

The cases feature Mickey, Minnie, and a sort of pop-art-hidden-Mickey-and-letters design. They’re cute, and – most importantly for a day of Disney frolicking – super protective and durable.

We battled the holiday traffic and arrived at the Grand around 8am. As always, it was decked out to the nines with lights, garland, and all things Santa approved. The gingerbread house wasn’t quite as epic as its Florida counterpart, but it was still pretty impressive. (Look at that Gingerbread Chip & Dale!)

It was uber crowded during our visit, so instead of waiting in endless lines, Mark and I tried to take the zen route: we got a few Fastpasses (for Indy and Guardians – two of our favs) and spent the rest of our time wandering around taking photos (and eating, but that’s a given).

And when I say we took photos, I mean we mostly took photos of Porg. #ImObsessed

I loved using the OtterBox cases, especially as a little added pop of Disney Style. Ever since our trip to Tokyo last winter, I’ve had a blast layering in ridiculous, silly Disney accessories to my park-going outfits (I promise, Tokyo Disney merch haul coming very soon). But apart from the occasional outrageous Mickey hat or Winnie the Pooh backpack, I’m not really big on complicated Disney outfits.

Give me comfort and give me simplicity, with just a little splash of Disney flair. Well, these cases definitely fit the bill. Not only did they protect my phone (hi, I’m the clumsiest human ever), but they added that little somethin’ somethin’ extra.

Plus, they perfectly matched my favorite Zara x Mickey Mouse shorts, which automatically made them a winner in my book.

Well, there you have it. A quick peek at our staycation and at my fancy new OtterBox iPhone cases. Mark and I are heading back to the Grand over New Years for another few days of Disney magic with my family, and I’ll definitely be using these cases throughout the trip.

If you’re heading to the parks yourself, you can grab your own Disney x OtterBox cases in both Disneyland and DCA!
