Hawaii has become something of an annual tradition since our very first visit to the Aloha State back in 2014.
That first visit together was actually my first visit, period — a bit of a rarity for a Los Angeles local. I’ve always preferred snow over surf when it comes to vacation destinations, but I think I might be slowly changing my tune (largely because bikinis > parkas).
When I was searching through my computer for pictures of Hanauma Bay, I came across all the other adventures we’ve had on Oahu to date. A helicopter ride, ziplining, stand-up paddle boarding in Waikiki, North Shore, and a sobering trip to Pearl Harbor. It all happened pre-blog, but half the fun of making memories is reliving them again later…

Hi, Aulani! It’s the brown behemoth of a thing, with the pools, water slides, and manmade lagoon. Four Seasons is next door.

Hanauma Bay, again.

We did our ziplining adventure through a company called CLIMB Works on Keana Farm in the northern tip of Oahu. They were super professional, and it was all kinds of fun — would definitely recommend.

It’s on my bucket list to visit the other Hawaiian Islands at some point — Kauai, Maui, the Big Island. Everyone says we’re “missing out” by sticking to Oahu, but it’s so very hard to stray when you know all this beauty is here waiting for you.
