Haneda International Airport
After 10 glorious days in Japan (easily one of my favorite countries in the world) Mark and I had to brace ourselves for the goodbye.
We’d flown into Narita International (thanks to the massive blunder by American Airlines), but to get home we went through Haneda. This airport is about half an hour closer to Tokyo, and was much more convenient to get to from the Mandarin Oriental.

Look at that taxi line! So orderly. So very Japanese.

And look at this big ‘ole bag of goodies from Tokyo Disney. Literally the entire bag was packed to the brim with amazing Tokyo Disney merch.

Japan Airlines First Class Lounge
We flew American Airlines, but since they’re a One World Partner (and since Mark has Executive Platinum status with AA), we were able to use the Japan Airlines First Class Lounge.
The lounge was class and swankiness personified. Amazing food options, a complementary massage area, shoe shine, and chess room. We grabbed some snacks (sushi for me, dim sum for him), wine, and relaxed for the hour we had to kill before our flight back to Los Angeles.

Our flight left Haneda around 6PM on Sunday, and we landed at LAX at noon…on Sunday. Crazy time travel! We’d spent Saturday at Tokyo Disneyland, and Sunday evening at Disneyland in Anaheim. Quite the weekend, and quite a way to top off our A M A Z I N G 10 days in Tokyo.
xx,
K
