Cause what else do you eat when you’re living out of a hotel halfway across the world?
Especially when you’re halfway across the world and essentially homeless. Which is pretty much what I was after my apartment building caught fire. Luckily, my main squeeze from the other side of the Atlantic worked his magic and got us a temporary room at the Hotel D’Angleterre in the city center.

Not too shabby for a temp, emergency place to stay.

Kimi and I were both a little (/a lot) shaken up from the craziness of everything that happened, so we spent the day decompressing (read: eating).

First stop: Cafe Norden.

We shared the brunch plate, which came with a bowl sized chai latte…

An amazing view…

And all this food.

Small interlude for souvenir browsing.

Bummed I never made it up to Aarhus (northern Denmark), cause then I would’ve been able to say I’ve been to all these places! #wanderlust

After a bit of retail therapy, we got soft serves. The first of the day.

And we ate them in the park with the rest of the Copenhageners enjoying the sun.

Then we went back to the hotel and napped for three hours. No joke.
When we woke up, it was dinnertime!

Along Nyhavn, with the prettiest of sunset views.

And the most epic of hamburgers. With french fries and mayo dipping sauce (my new fav).

Ended the night with yet another soft serve. Cause when in Denmark…
