Cliffside eating

The main eatery at the Belmond El Encanto in Santa Barbara is called The Dining Room (so original). Since our getaway was a last minute decision, the earliest we were able to get reservations for dinner was 8:30. Being the granny status eaters that we are, we decided to stop in earlier at the lounge for a drink and some snacks to tide us over.

How pretty is this place? Swoon.

The Dining Room is on the veranda of the main building, which houses the hotel lobby, bar/lounge, and spa.

singer

They had a Frank Sinatra clone serenading the place with live music, which was a cutesy touch.

A hummus, baba ganoush, and bulgar wheat mix held us over until dinner.

And the views were just a cherry on top.

  1. Wow, what an amazing job they’ve done with the El Encanto. I used to go there quite a bit in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, and then it was closed for renovation and we stopped going. It looks freaking gorgeous! It was so dated before, including the rooms/cabins. I’m sure they are beautiful now as well. Thanks for sharing and bringing back great memories.
